IPR Minister condoles demise of Journalist Shantikumar

Imphal, June 7:

Information and Public relation (IPR) Minister Th Biswajit has condoled the sudden and untimely demise of Saikhom Shantikumar, Sub-Editor of Ireibak local daily due to covid-19 at PGI Hospital Chandigarh on dated June 5.
“His sudden demise has left a void which is hard to fill among the media fraternity of the state” the IPR Minister said in a condolence message. He also conveyed solidarity to the bereaved family.
All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) in a press release deeply mourned the sudden demise of the senior journalist, informing that the Standing Committee and Advisory Committee of the AMWJU held a meeting at Manipur Press Club wherein a two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
AMWJU Members and media fraternity lighted candles at the Journalists’ Memorial Pillar inside Manipur Press Club in the late evening to pay homage to the deceased journalist.
In the meantime All Manipur Kidney Transplant Patients Welfare Association, Imphal also shared the pain and sorrow of the family members.
