The cadre of KNF and the civilian, who have been killed in an encounter with the personnel of 8th Assam Rifles at Kadangban area yesterday, have been identified today by their respective families.
The deceased persons have been identified as Ngulkhosei Kipgen (40), s/o (L) Thalhun of Motbung. He is a sympathizer of Kuki National Front and Khupneilal Neisel (45) s/o (L) Lallam of Kangchup Chingkhong. Family members said that he was an innocent and was the secretary of Kangchup Chingkhong Village Authority and Vice-President of Kuki Inpi Tuibul Lhang, Kangchup.
According to family members of Khupneilal, he was an innocent and was the owner of the car WB-02S-6809. They said that his car hijacked along with him by some cadres of KNF. They also alleged that two have been killed in cold blood by the personnel of 8th Assam Rifles. They further said that a JAC has been formed against the killing.
The JAC resolved to take up series of protest against the killing and not to accept the dead bodies of the two until and unless a magisterial inquiry of the incident is conducted by the state government.
Meanwhile police sources said that security forces recovered 2 pistols, 10 detonators and one explosive cake from the deceased persons.
