Kakching Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a tree plantation drive at Waikhong football ground, Thoubal district on 20th August 2019. About 50 saplings of various trees were planted by the Company Operating Base (COB), Waikhong of the battalion along with Waikhong Youth Club.
Tree plantation drive started since 1950 and it has increased National awareness of environment protection. The tree plantation drive was observed with the aim to fight global warming and to reduce its impact to some extent.
All the attendees pledged to carry forward this initiative and contribute towards increasing the green cover in newly formed Kakching district of Manipur.
