Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Kakching District Branch marked its inaugural Foundation Day with a significant community initiative aimed at environmental sustainability. The celebration, held today, featured a comprehensive cleanliness drive under the theme “Free Plastic Garbage.”
The event commenced at 6 AM, starting from the main gate of the DC office complex and progressing through various key locations including Budhiraj Road, Ningthou Leikai, Mayai Leikai, Makha Leikai, Naodam Bazar, and Paji Leikai. The drive was officially flagged off by Rohit Anand, Deputy Commissioner of Kakching and President of the IRCS Kakching District Branch.
The programme saw enthusiastic participation from Life Members of the Branch, as well as volunteers from the Youth Red Cross Unit of Kha Manipur College and Junior Red Cross Units from Grace Cottage Academy and Martin Grammar School, both situated in Kakching.
Following the cleanliness drive, the Annual General Meeting of the IRCS Kakching District Branch was convened at 9 AM at the Kakching Mayai Leikai Community Hall.
