Ibobi writes to PM against the racial assault on the NE people

Chief Minister  Okram Ibobi has written a letter to the Prime Minister of India regarding the series of incidents at which people of the North East region were attacked at New Delhi and Bangalore. The letter written on Oct 17, 2014 strongly condemn the recent incidents of discrimination violence and physical assault against the people of NE in Delhi and other part of the country. He also reportedly mentioned the incident as quite disturbing and the people of NE including Manipuri as quite distressed over these incident and very unfortunate that such incident ever frequently with sign of reduction. He also shown his apprehensive that these indecent of violence and discrimination may completely derailed the process of psychological integration of the people NE region with other parts of our country. He also urged the Union Govt. to constitute a committee to look into the issue and suggest ways and means to contained these kind of incidents in future, beside requesting the PM to defeat the concerned authority to take stringent acting against the culprit invade in these incident as per law of the land and seek to provide adequate protection to students people from NE region in other part of the country, especially in Metros like Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. The source also informed that, another letter was also written to Union Home Minister with copy to Union Minister of State over the same matter.
