Governor lays foundation stone for CCpur Court building

As part of the Duodecennial Celebration of the High Court of Manipur, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla laid the foundation stone for the District & Sessions Court building in Churachandpur and announced the creation of new positions within the Chief Justice Secretariat of the High Court.
Speaking at the event, the Governor highlighted Manipur’s rich judicial history, mentioning the Courts of Kutchu and Pacha, the historic Cheirap Court, and the pre-independence Manipur State Durbar, which played a vital role in civil and criminal matters.
He emphasized that the anniversary is not merely a milestone but a celebration of justice, fairness, and equality. Congratulating the Chief Justices and Judges, he acknowledged their dedication in upholding the rule of law. The presence of Supreme Court Judges and the Union Minister of Law and Justice was viewed as a strong testament to the nation’s commitment to strengthening Manipur’s legal framework.
The Governor further stated that the anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the progress of the judiciary over the past decade. He expressed confidence that the High Court of Manipur will continue its commitment to ensuring speedy justice and inspiring future generations.
During the event, several key projects were inaugurated, and new initiatives were launched. Adding a cultural essence to the celebration, the Governor also witnessed a mesmerizing performance by artists of JNMDA.
