EKAL lambasts Kuki bodies for spreading false and fabricated story against AR CO

Responding to the allegations against Colonel Akash, Commanding Officer of the 18 AR, currently stationed at Sagolmang Post, the Eramdam Kanba Lup (EKAL) has lambasted the CoTU, ITLF, KSO-Media Documentation Cell for spreading false and fabricated story to the people.
In a memorandum sent to the Director General of Assam Rifles, Shillong, the Eramdam Kanba Lup (EKAL) stated that in the allegation the CoTU, ITLF, KSO-Media Documentation Cell have mentioned that excavation of land, construction of roads, the establishment of camps and bunkers had taken placed at C. Zoulen (unofficial Village name and not recognized by the State Govt.) which is usually and originally known as Chanung Chingmang Village officially.
It said that the Village comes under Keibi Kumuda Seat No.3, Village No. 23 (as attached in the Land Settlement Map enclosed herewith) of Sawombung Sub-Division, Imphal East District. The security Bunker of the 18 AR is purely for State Govt. Sericulture land which also falls under Village No. 23 of Keibi Kumuda.
“As there is no official record of C. Zoulen ( recently self-named by them and original name is Chanung Chingmang Village) in Imphal East District, the Village itself does not fall under any land which is protected by Article 371 C, of Indian Constitution”, the EKAL wrote to the DG AR.
The EKAL memorandum to the DG AR also said that various false propaganda and allegations had been made by Kuki CSOs against Col. Akash which is totally absurd and baseless.
“We are obliged to draw your kind attention regarding the good endeavors and civic action programmes taken up by Col. Akash of 18 AR. after his deployment at Chanung Village, Nongsum, and whole Pukhao Village areas during the ongoing conflict. Ever since his deployment in these areas of Imphal East District, Peace, and harmony have prevailed without any unwanted incidents and are totally under control and safe on both sides . Hence such false propaganda and allegations will do nothing but create tensions and hatred among the villagers on both sides. Further, it is nothing but also to tarnish the image of the Assam Rifles which is one of the oldest and highly decorated Para-Military Forces of our Nation”, the EKAL said and urged the DG AR to dismiss the allegations made by KSO Media and Documentation Cell or any other Kuki CSOs against Colonel Oinam Akash of 18 Assam Rifles.
