Imphal, Jan 23:

In a significant development, the Education Department of Manipur is gearing up to conduct the Teachers’ Induction Training as part of the School Fagathansi Mission’s STAR Education program. The School Fagathansi Mission, aimed at revolutionizing teaching methodologies throughout Manipur, is poised to bring about impactful changes in the education sector.
The Teachers’ Induction Training will be conducted in two waves, ushering in innovation and excellence across government schools in Manipur. The first wave is scheduled to take place at Kamakhya Pemton College, Langthabal, from January 30 to February 9, 2024. This initiative aims to reach 152 new schools in the first wave, benefiting over 850 teachers and 150 headmasters across various districts.
Thounaojam Basanta Singh, Education Minister, expressed, “In line with the Manipur Government’s commitment to providing quality education to every government school in the State, the STAR Education program, a key initiative of the CM’s School Fagathansi Mission, stands out as a transformative endeavor. The upcoming Teacher Induction training will ensure that our dedicated teachers and headmasters acquire the essential skills and resources to implement the STAR Education program in their respective schools. The training underscores a shared commitment of the Manipur Government and STAR Education to elevate the standard of education across our government schools in the State.”
The STAR methodology is crafted to promote continuous development and improvement, recognizing that empowered teachers play a pivotal role in shaping a brighter future for students. The training will focus on the STAR teaching approach, covering classroom management, instructional training, and technology integration. Headmasters will also undergo training on Leadership Skills, Teacher Observation, and feedback.
Implementing a tech-enabled, data-driven coaching, and professional development model, STAR Education ensures that teachers, headmasters/headmistresses, and support staff are well-prepared for success. Under the School Fagathansi Mission, the STAR Education program has been successfully implemented in 253 government schools since its initiation. As more schools embrace the program, a higher number of students across Manipur are set to benefit from this progressive approach to education.
