Ukhrul, September 5:
Ukhrul will host the 8th Edition of Education Festival 2025 from October 29 to 31 at Jubilee Hall, UBC, Ukhrul Headquarters. The three-day event, organised by the District Administration in collaboration with the North East Foundation for Education and Culture (NEFEC), is expected to be one of the most dynamic gatherings of students and educators in the region.
Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul and Chairman of the Organising Committee, Asish Das (IAS), said the festival has grown from a state-level school championship into a regional event. “This year, we expect participation from schools outside Manipur, making it a broader educational festival,” he noted.
Das informed that Edu Fest 2025 will emphasise practical, solution-driven ideas from students. “They will be encouraged to propose solutions to issues such as waste management, drug abuse, traffic regulation, water scarcity, and pollution. Feasible ideas will be implemented at the district level with due credit given to the students,” he added.
The festival will feature a mix of academic, cultural and sports events. Highlights include Quiz, Creative Writing, Spelling Bee, Robotic Engineering, Extempore Speech, Painting, Acapella, Cultural Dance Showcase, Choreography, and a Mini Marathon for boys and girls.
Organising Secretary AC Tamyo said the festival’s vision is to provide students with a platform beyond classrooms. “It is not just about winning competitions but about discovering oneself, solving real-world problems, and reimagining education through innovation and collaboration,” he remarked.
Edu Fest also aims to engage students, parents, teachers, policymakers, NGOs and researchers in shaping a future-ready education system. “This is a strategic intervention to transform the educational landscape of Manipur,” Tamyo added.
Registration forms and guidelines are available at the NEFEC Resource Centre, Kamphasom (Near SP Quarter), Ukhrul. Inquiries may be made at 9612386769 / 8415053040.
