
15 day basic course in News Reporting was inaugurated today at Manipur Press Club, Imphal. The training program was organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR),Government of Manipur.
Attending the inaugural function as Chief Guest, Letkhogin Haokip, IAS, Principal Secretary (IPR) said that media plays an important role in world power and is an essential commodity of day to day’s lives. News reporting should be truthful and the reporters must know the basic of news reporting, hence such training programs is very important and all the trainees should learn and get the best out of the training.
The inaugural function of the training program was also attended by Wangkhemcha Shyamjai, President, AMWJU and W. Rajen, Director, IPR, Govt. of Manipur as Guest of Honour and President respectively. 29 trainees including some working journalists will be participating in the 15 days training program and 19 resource persons such as senior journalists, prominent editors and other expertise in media related issues will be the trainer. Dr. A. Ibomcha Sharma, Editor and Head, RNU, AIR, Imphal spoke on the topic of ‘journalistic ethics and codes.’
