Democratic Students Association of Manipur (DESAM) urged the Catholic School Authority to open their school from tomorrow.
In a press meet held today at the office of DESA at Keishampat, Moirangthem Angamba, President, DESAM said that after a meeting was held today with the guardians of Catholic and Mission schools it has been resolved to urge all the school authority to resume classes from tomorrow. He added that the guardians should bring their students to classes and the local club and Meira Paibee will hold responsibility for the safety of the children. He further appealed the school transporter body to co operate with the students body by standing against the militants threat for closing of the school. He further appealed the school authority to relax school fees for the students for the month of April as no classes were done during this month. He also appealed the KCP (MC) group who are banning the schools to clarify their stand regarding the imposition to the Catholic schools. Pointing fingers to the state government Angamba added that silence of the state government in the matter is a concrete violation of the right to education for the children. He appealed the government authority to look into the matter.
