Death of a house wife identified as Akoijam Ongbi Monika (20) wife of Akoijam Jeevan of Iroishemba presently staying at Lamsang of Friday had sparked series of protest at Lamsang area today. The locals of the deceased girl blamed the death as the result of atrocities committed by her husband.The deceased Monika was brought at RIMS casualty day before yesterday after she was reported to have some complaints of abdomen pain. Later she succumbed at the hospital yesterday morning at around 3.30 am.Alleging the husband for the cause of the death of his wife, locals today convened a meeting at Lamsang Community Hall. The meeting resolved to urge the government authority to arrest the culprit involved to the killing of Monika and said that they will not accept the death body until the culprits were arrested. It also resolved not to drive out the family of the culprits.Later, the locals staged a protest rally carrying slogans denouncing the killing.The rally was however stopped by a team of police in front of Lamsang Police station.
