Imphal, July 31:
Delhi Association of Manipur Muslim Students (DAMMS) has expressed strong condemnation to the gun firing and bomb blast in the periphery where Pangal are inhabited.
“The near about three months of conflict between the two communities the Meitei’s and the Kuki’s in Manipur, there is no sign of truce and peace. The life of Pangals who are living in the periphery or buffer zone between the two communities face a threat to their life and their livelihood amidst heavy exchange of firing”, a statement of DAMMS said. It added that in Kwakta area particularly, there is still lawlessness, bomb blast and gun firing happening every day. These result in casualties and intimidation among Pangals. The government should immediately send reinforcement to stop all this firing.
While appealing both sides to restrain firing the DAMMS said that this conflict is not talking the name of ending and it shows the failure of State Government as well as Central Government. The DAMMS demanded to the State Government to take up necessary steps to bring peace and normalcy in the State or if they couldn’t resolve it, CM must resign on moral ground.
