Curtain Raiser Rally flagged off for the 32nd Imphal Book Fair 

A Curtain Raiser Rally in connection with the 32nd Imphal Book Fair 2025 was held today. Organised jointly by the State Central Library, Imphal along with theDistrict Libraries and the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur, in partnership with the Manipur Library Association (MALA) and various NGOs operating public libraries, the rally was flagged off from the State Central Library Campus in Imphal. The book fair will be held from 15th to 24th December, 2025.
Chief Librarian, Dr. RK Urmila, State Central Library flagged off the rally. The two-wheelerrally started from the campus and moved along Mayailambi, Pishumthong, Singjamei, Wangkhei, Minuthong, Nagamapal and concluded at the same campus. She said that amidst the present uncertainty and continuous  challenges in the State, it has become more important for us to focus more on constructive and enriching activities.Reading books offers a sense of stability, hope and intellectual strength and provides comfort, guidance and positive mind, especially,to the students and youth.
Today’scurtain raiser aimed to raise awareness about the importance of reading and to encourage the public to engage with books and learning. The main motive of thebook fair is to highlight the importance of connecting readers with writers, publishers and other professionals in the literary world.
