It is official, that two BJP MLAs are standing up against Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and are camping in New Delhi urging the central leadership to change N. Biren Singh. Media report confirms two other BJP MLAs – Khwairakpam Raghumani and Paonam Brojen sitting together and meeting with some of the top BJP leaders in New Delhi.
Even as Chief Minister N. Biren Singh had stated that there is no crisis in his government, PHED Minister L. Susindro and his son-in-law MLA RK Imo had openly stated that the two MLAs are power-hungry leaders and confirmed to the press that, at least two of the prominent MLAs Th. Radheshyam, who quit the post of Advisor to the Chief Minister, and MLA Karam Shyam (who had resigned from the chairman of the Manipur Tourism Corporation). These two MLAs had openly criticised the leadership of N. Biren Singh as the Chief Minister.
Another reliable source told Imphal Times that apart from the 4 MLAs, several BJP MLAs from the Kuki tribe are also camping in the national capital. The Kuki tribe is represented by ten MLAs in the Manipur Legislative Assembly, seven of whom are BJP MLAs.
As of now, the central leadership is not responding to the demand of the dissident MLAs as their number are low.
