With the Bihar general elections expected to be held in October or November this year, and laso other upcoming state election, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has begun its election preparations by declaring 2025 as the “Year of Organization” for the Congress Party. This move signals a major reorganization effort aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots network ahead of the crucial polls.
In line with this strategy, the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has intensified its participation in national-level party discussions. MPCC President K. Meghachandra announced today that 14 district presidents of the party will leave Imphal on March 27 to attend a crucial meeting convened by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi. The meeting is expected to focus on election strategies, organizational restructuring, and mobilization efforts to boost the party’s presence in Bihar and across the country.
Additionally, Meghachandra revealed that the Congress will hold an extended Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Ahmedabad from April 8, which will continue for three days. This significant gathering will be attended by all state Congress Presidents and Congress Chief Ministers, highlighting the party’s commitment to reinforcing its leadership and unity ahead of the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, Meghachandra welcomed the proposed visit of six Supreme Court judges to Manipur and expressed hope that their intervention would help the government find a lasting solution to the ongoing crisis in the state. He emphasized the need for swift action in resettling internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their respective villages, urging authorities to prioritize peace and rehabilitation efforts.
With the Congress Party ramping up its reorganization and election strategy, the coming months are expected to witness intensified political activity as the party seeks to position itself strongly for the Bihar elections and other upcoming electoral battles across India.
