Congress can restore Manipur if voted to power again: Moirangthem Hemanta

Former Minister Moirangthem Hemanta has said that Manipur can be restored to normalcy if the Congress returns to power in the upcoming general elections, while warning that continuation of the BJP government would further worsen the situation in the state.
He made the remarks while addressing a Congress workers’ meet held at Pundrei under Wangjing Tentha Assembly Constituency, organised by the Wangjing Tentha Block Congress Committee.
The meeting was attended by Moirangthem Hemanta, Block Congress Committee President Shagolsem Gopeshor, and several party workers.
Speaking at the gathering, Hemanta alleged that the present BJP-led government has failed to handle the situation in Manipur. He said that despite repeated announcements and claims, the government has not been able to bring the crisis under control or provide effective governance.
He further criticised the Central leadership, stating that even after prolonged unrest and loss of lives, there has been no meaningful response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed concern over the growing public anger and frustration among the people under the current government.
Hemanta warned that if corrective measures are not taken and the leadership fails to act responsibly, the situation in Manipur could deteriorate further. He maintained that the Congress remains committed to inclusive governance and addressing the concerns of all communities.
