COCOMI Women’s Wing storms residence of Ministers

IT News
Imphal, June 25:

A large number of women, led by the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) Women’s Wing, attempted to storm the official residence of Minister Th. Bishwajit today, demanding urgent action from MLAs regarding the ongoing crisis in Manipur. However, the minister was not present at his quarters at the time.
Y. Lairikleima, Coordinator of the COCOMI Women’s Wing, voiced serious concerns: “Kuki terrorists have killed and displaced many indigenous people. The Assam Rifles are taking their side. The Indian government must intervene.” She criticized the participation of 10 Kuki MLAs in rallies advocating for a separate homeland, urging, “the remaining 50 MLAs should resign in protest of the current state of affairs if they are unable to do anything.”
She also accused the Security Advisor of employing a divide-and-rule strategy, which she claims is evident in Jiribam. “The 32 communities in Manipur are suffering due to Kuki terrorists. These 50 MLAs should come out and join hands with the people,” she added.
Subsequently, the group met with Thokchom Satyabrata Singh, Speaker of the Manipur State Legislative Assembly, to further discuss their demands.
