CM reviews investment projects, assures teachers’ body of action on grievances

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today reviewed the implementation of investment proposals under key economic departments and reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring timely execution of projects aimed at promoting economic growth and employment generation in the state.

According to a post shared by the Chief Minister on social media, he chaired a review meeting at the Secretariat to assess the status of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed with investors for the Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture, Trade, Commerce and Industries, and Handloom and Textiles.

The meeting, attended by the Additional Chief Secretary and senior officials, examined the progress of ongoing projects and the implementation of various investment proposals. The Chief Minister noted that while several projects are progressing satisfactorily, others are being implemented in phases.

He said the government would continue to closely monitor the projects to ensure their timely completion, with the objective of attracting investment, promoting sustainable economic development and creating employment opportunities for the people of Manipur.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister met a delegation of the Council of Teachers Association (COTA) at the Secretariat.

During the meeting, the delegation submitted various issues relating to the rights, welfare and service-related grievances of school teachers. The Chief Minister assured the representatives that the government had taken serious note of their concerns and would take appropriate steps to address them.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to the education sector, Khemchand said the welfare of teachers remains a priority and that efforts would continue to strengthen the state’s education system for the benefit of future generations.
