Imphal, Jan 10:
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh conducted a series of inspections of critical development projects in the state, addressing key infrastructure and public facility issues.
During his visit to Salanthong Bridge in Imphal East, the Chief Minister emphasized the urgent need for improvements to mitigate flood risks in the region. He announced that the bridge, a longstanding concern for residents, would be elevated by four feet. “The elevation will ensure smoother water flow during heavy rains and significantly reduce the risk of overflow, which has caused immense hardships in the past,” he stated.
The Chief Minister also inspected the Manipur State Central Library in Imphal, which is set to undergo redevelopment and modernization. He highlighted plans to upgrade the library with new infrastructure and modern facilities, transforming it into a vibrant center for knowledge and information. “The revamped library will encourage reading habits among people from all walks of life and serve as a hub for learning and cultural growth,” he added.
