Imphal, Feb 21:
The Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COSHEM) has commenced the Class XII examinations today across the state, with a total of 31,342 students appearing in Arts, Science, and Commerce subjects at 144 designated centers.
The commencement of the exams coincided with the lifting of a total shutdown called in protest against the recent arrests made in connection with the looting of arms and ammunitions from the 5th IRB Post at Chingarel Tejpur. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh extended his best wishes to the students and urged the public to refrain from disrupting the exams through bandhs or blockades.
Notably, the Class XI exams began yesterday, and both sets of exams are scheduled to conclude on March 23, 2024.
To ensure the integrity of the examination process, COSHEM has deployed flying squads, while district administrations have enforced restrictions on the gathering of parents, guardians, or any other individuals within a hundred-meter radius of exam centers. This measure aims to facilitate a fair and conducive environment for all students undertaking their exams.
