Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh inspected several ongoing infrastructure and development projects in Heirok Assembly Constituency and reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening essential public services across the state through continuous monitoring and timely implementation of projects.
The Chief Minister, accompanied by Heirok MLA Thokchom Radheshyam Singh and senior government officials, visited the newly established Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) for Thoubal district, the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Heirok and civic infrastructure projects being implemented under the Heirok Municipal Council.
During the inspection, Yumnam Khemchand Singh reviewed the progress of the projects and directed concerned departments to ensure timely completion and better coordination in public service delivery.
Speaking during the visit, the Chief Minister said the government is focusing on improving education, healthcare and civic infrastructure to ensure better facilities for the public at the grassroots level. He stated that regular field inspections are being conducted to monitor development works and address shortcomings in implementation.
One of the key projects inspected was the newly approved Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Salungpham under Heirok Assembly Constituency, estimated to cost around Rs 100 crore. Officials informed that the Government of India has already approved the project and the foundation stone for the permanent campus has been laid. Until completion of the permanent infrastructure, classes are being conducted from the Model Residential School at Heirok Part-II.
The Chief Minister also inspected the ongoing renovation and upgrading works at the local PHC aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure and expanding medical services, including round-the-clock facilities.
In addition, he reviewed market and civic infrastructure projects under the Heirok Municipal Council, including sanitation, waste management and road improvement works.
