In 2014, the United Nations General Assembly designated July 15 as World Youth Skills Day to highlight the imperative of equipping young people with skills for gainful employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship. This year’s theme, “Youth Skills for Peace and Development,” highlights the pivotal role youth play in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and sustainable development.
