A road opening party of the G-Coy BSF station at Koirengei today recovered bomb materials and ammunitions wrapped in a plastic polythene bag from the road side of Nongren Chingjil Village under Lamlai Police station in Imphal East at around 9. 00 am. The ammunitions and bomb materials includes 100 live rounds of AK rifles, 2 packets of plastic explosives weighing around 100 grams, 2 Superdine explosives – each weight around 200 grams and one Kg of nails for splinters. Police source said that the explosive materials were found wrapped in a polythene bag hidden under a newly dug soil at the roadside by the ROP team of the BSF convoy. Roads at either side were blocked when the security force dug out the bomb materials to ensure safety. The recovered explosive materials were later handed over to Lamlai Police station.
