Four cadres of Maoist Communist Party, Manipur including one woman cadre have been arrested by a team of Imphal East district police commandos during search a operation at around 8.30 pm yesterday.
According to a reliable source, the arrested cadres have been identified as Sagolsem Umakanta (42) s/o (L) S Yaima of Charangpat Mayai Leikai, Ningthoujam Silheiba alias Tondonba alias Wanglen (21) s/o N Ibohal of Laisoi, Bishnupur district, Ningthoujam Telheiba alias Ango (20) s/o N Babu of Sugnu Chajing Khunou and Sapam Soniya alias Yai Devi (35) d/o S Achoubi of Nongmeibung Academy road.
One .45 pistol loaded with six live rounds, 16 PEK sticks, two WT sets, three live ammunition of .32 pistol, five camouflage caps, 15 black half shirts, three banners of the outfit, three flags of the outfit, 12 pamphlets and seven mobile phones were seized from their possession, added the source.
It further said that all the arrested cadres are presently working under the command of self-styled general secretary of the outfit, Kangleipal alias Rocky of Nongada Thongkhong.
The source said that the arrested cadres are also working as the convenor, co-convenor and members of Organization Movements of Indigenous People of Manipur (OMIPM) and League of Proletarian Students of Manipur (LEPSUM)
