The 47th Foundation Day of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was observed across Manipur today, with central celebrations held at Longmai Ground in Noney district and Thambal Sanglen in Imphal.
Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, along with State BJP President A. Sharda Devi, attended the Sthapna Diwas programme at Longmai Ground while returning to Imphal from Jiribam via National Highway-37. The event was also attended by MLA Dinganglung Gangmei, other legislators, and party leaders.
The programme was organised by BJP Nungba Mandal in connection with the 47th Foundation Day of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The party flag was hoisted by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A. Sarda Devi, followed by the singing of Vande Mataram. The Chief Minister and the state BJP president also led the gathering in paying floral tributes to party leaders and pioneers.
In a message shared on social media, the Chief Minister stated that he was encouraged by the warm reception accorded to him at Noney. He noted that the participation of party workers and the public reflected confidence in the government’s focus on development and governance.
He further stated that the enthusiasm and participation of party workers would strengthen efforts towards achieving the vision of a developed Manipur by 2047. He added that continued public support would contribute to inclusive growth and sustainable development in the state, with particular focus on districts such as Noney.
Meanwhile, the Foundation Day was also observed at Thambal Sanglen in Imphal. State BJP Vice President Nongthombam Nimbus Singh unfurled the party flag and led the ceremony.
The programme was attended by former State BJP President and Padma Shri awardee Thounaojam Chaoba Singh, Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam, MLAs, party leaders, and party workers.
Party leaders highlighted the organisation’s growth in the state and reiterated their commitment to strengthening governance and development initiatives.
