BJP government’s wrong policies have pushed the country back – Dr. S. Manaoton

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) General Secretary Dr. S. Manaoton has alleged that the BJP government’s “wrong policies and actions” have pushed both the country and Manipur backwards.

He made the remarks at a press conference organised by the Imphal West-II District Congress Committee in association with the Mayang Imphal Block Congress Committee at the Congress office in Mayang Imphal to highlight the “Chhatron Ki Goonj” campaign.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Manaoton said the Congress believes in building an inclusive India where every section of society has equal opportunities. Referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s vision, he said the party is committed to creating an India in which the youth can realise their aspirations and succeed in every field.

He criticised the BJP’s “double-engine government”, alleging that despite its promises of rapid development, the country continues to face serious challenges. He said the condition of the youth has become increasingly difficult, while Manipur continues to suffer from instability and uncertainty.

Dr. Manaoton further alleged that the BJP government’s policies have worsened the situation in the State and that it would take considerable time to reverse the damage. He urged the youth to unite in building a “New India” and a “New Manipur.”

He also referred to the alleged NEET examination question paper leak, claiming that the incident had caused immense distress among students and alleging that several students had taken their own lives due to the prevailing situation. He held the BJP government responsible for what he described as failures in the education system.

The programme was attended by Imphal West District Congress Committee President, MPCC General Secretary S. Jiten, MPCC Vice-President Vidiyabati Senjam, MPCC media panellist P. Bakimchandra, and other Congress leaders.
