Bird Traps Seized in Thoubal

Divisional Forest Officer, Thoubal along with the staff members seized bird traps in and around Lilong Arapti in Thoubal District yesterday evening.
Appealing to the public to conserve wildlife, DFO Thoubal Debala Laiphrakpam asserted that any cruel act to wildlife including holding them in captivity, killing, selling or exhibition are prohibited under Section 39 of the Indian Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
He urged all to support the cause of saving migratory birds and to refrain from setting up any traps in the future.
Honorary Wildlife Warden Thoubal, Waikhom Ramachandra, BO Pallel, Md Salaouddin and Lilong Police Personnels took part in the drive.
