UPF supports mass rally

The United Peoples’ Front, Manipur Manipur today extended its support to the Oct 31 mass rally organised by the United Committee Manipur to protect the integrity of the state.

In a statement, the UPF said that the organization have no opposition to the peace talk between the government of India and the NSCN-IM but it would not remain a mute spectator if the territorial integrity of the state is under threat.

Since the peace deal was signed between the government of India and the NSCN-IM , the later has been demanding a separate state by carving out potion of land from the territory of Manipur and other neighbouring state to form a south Nagaland or a greater Nagaland, which has been vehemently opposed by the people of the state. The apprehension about the threat to the integrity of the state comes after the government of India signed a framework agreement on August3 , 2015 all of a sudden. People of the state will always stand oppose to any threat to the integrity of the state.

The statement added that all units of UPF will take part in the mass rally.
