With the aim of scouting talents who would be nurtured for the participation of Badminton event for the 2023 Olympic games, badminton coaching was launched at Jiribam District today at the auditorium of Multipurpose Sports Complex, Bidyanagar, Jiribam.
The coaching was enrolled by 44 players consisting 31 boys and 13 girls under-14 which will be conducted with technical assistance from Chief coach Th. Homendra, National Player and Asst. Coach Y. Kananbala Devi, National player.
Speaking at the inaugural programme of Badminton coaching, the Chief Advisor of Jiribam District Badminton Association (JDBA) M. Mubi Singh said for the upcoming 2023 Olympic games, under the Khelo India scheme to unearthed the talented players, among the 16 districts of Manipur, Jiribam District has been included for the badminton event.
He also appealed to all the parents to extend their support so that it will encourage to build up healthy and physically fit sportspersons among the kids as well as participate players from the platform of Jiribam District.
