The Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA) has issued a statement denouncing the recent press release of the Chandel Naga People’s Organization (CNPO), dated November 28, 2025, which alleged corruption by Dharmendra Kumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Chandel.
In its statement, ANTA clarified that it has no knowledge of, nor does it support, the allegations made by the CNPO. It stated that the CNPO has not provided any substantial proof to support its accusations against the SP.
ANTA further noted that under the supervision of SP Dharmendra Kumar, poppy plantations in the district have been destroyed, drug smuggling has been contained, and several illegal activities have been significantly reduced. The organisation stated that the officer should be supported and encouraged to continue his efforts to uplift the district, rather than being subjected to “baseless allegations” aimed at tarnishing the reputation of a public servant performing his duties within the framework of the law.
The organisation also remarked that the SP has maintained a healthy relationship with the public during his tenure. ANTA urged the authorities to allow the officer to continue serving Chandel and called for enabling him to work with “renewed zeal and spirit.”
