Imphal, March 22: The first three-day event of the year long 8th Death Anniversary Celebration of eminent Litterateur Kangjam Padmakumar, which began on 19th March, 2017 at the Shrine Play House, Chorus Repertory Theatre, Shamushang Uku, Imphal concluded yesterday. The concluding day was highlighted by short story reading from different writers and a short play – Karna Amasung Kunti.
Sahitya Academy Awardee Khumanthem Prakash was in the Chair and conducted the short Story Reading session. He said that such an event organised by Shri K. Radhakumar Singh, IAS, Commissioner (IPR & Works) for his Late father Shri Kangjam Padmakumar was very significant and it would promote towards growth of quality Manipuri Literature.
Eminent short story writers Lamabam Viramani, Keisham Priyokumar, Joddhachandra Sanasam, Mayanglambam Kandesh, Ranbir Sharungba, H. Buddhichandra, H. Renubala, Ni Devi and Maya Nepram read their short stories.
The short story session was followed by a 15-Minute short play – Karna Amasung Kunti directed by L. Bramohon translated by K Padmakumar from the original play of Rabindranath
