It is sad to hear the news. However, so far as the above news is concerned, there needs to be some rectification. As the villagers of Mantri Pantha have encroached the land of Lambung, the villagers of Lambung led by the elders of the village have gone to talk taking along with them some villagers. The elders of the Lambung requested the villagers of Mantri Pantha to call the elders of their village for talk. Instead, they rang the bell and the Mantri Pantha villagers came with weapons like guns, knives etc. and both the villages started fighting. So, the fight was started by the villagers of Mantri Pantha. They fired guns and luckily, no one was hurt by the bullet of their gun. The villagers of Lambung did not have gun/used guns. The injured have taken placed to both the sides. The injured villagers of Lambung were also admitted at Chandel District Hospital. It is a suggestion that some reporters may be sent to both the villages and find out the fact. Besides, what is the history of these two villages and why the villagers of Lambung village is ready to protect its land. Please verify the facts of the history.

First of all, the fencing and pigsty of the house that Lambung villagers dismantled is NOT an encroached land. It has stood there for more than 25 years. Secondly, the land dispute between the two villages have been going on for quite some years now and the case is still pending in a court i.e. subjudiced.

Does it makes sense for the elders of Lambung to go to Mantri Pantha village to have a talk when the case is already subjudiced? Even if it doesn’t make sense and we agree for arguments sake, why did the elders of Lambung went to Mantri pantha village accompanied by more than 150 people who were armed with sword, dao, knife, crowbar and other sharp objects started dismantling the fence of a house that has stood there for more than 25 years?

If Mantri Pantha villagers had started the fight who were reportedly armed with knives and guns as claimed by the commenter, why didn’t the villagers of Lambung received critical injuries as is the case with victims from Mantri Pantha village who received critical injuries inflicted by knives/daos and crowbar? Shouldn’t Lambung suffered more casualties by that logic since Mantri Pantha people had gun, knives, etc and were the first to start the fight? Not to forget the fight started happened in Mantri Pantha village. But clearly, the evidence tells the opposite. Mantri Pantha villagers had only gone to stop Lambung mob from vandalising the property of a villager from Mantri Pantha. But in the process, they were attacked with knives and crowbars and that is how they got critically injured.

Had Mantri Pantha villagers not restrained themselves, the scuffle could have been bloody with high chances of fatality on both sides.

And for the record, Mantri Pantha have all valid official documentary evidences to proof their ownership of the land which also includes the proof of settling Lambung into their village territory when the latter came running to mantri Pantha for shelter after their village got razed down at Meichak Khuram (several kms away from proper Chandel).

Lastly, for arguments sake (not that its true), if the land really belongs to Lambung as claimed above and they have the evidence to back it, then why resort to “Might is Right” method? Doesn’t make sense at all.

Last year at this time of year when the case was taken up, Lambung villagers had gone to Phunchong village (another village who had settled in Mantri Pantha territory after being granted due permission) and had beaten them black and blue and threatened them with dire consequences to lie before court. This is one such many examples of how they flex their “Might is Right” approached in the absence of any valid evidences to back their claim.

Corrigendum; First of all, the structure they were dismantling is inside Mantri Pantha village. It has stood there for more than three decades. There is no question of the said land being “encroached ” here. Were their eyes closed in all these years and suddenly they woke up to realise that it is “encroached”? Lambung villagers numbering more than 150 came with a premeditated plan to destroy the houses of Mantri Pantha. They were armed with knives, daos, sticks and other sharp objects and started atacking Mantri Pantha villagers who went to stop mob vandalism. They were allowed to settle in Mantri Pantha territory after they became refugee and came running as their village got razed down at “Meichak Khuram” which is several kms away from proper Chandel. Mantri Pantha village had all valid documents to back their claims.

Instead of being grateful to Mantri Pantha village for helping them and allowing them to settle in Mantri Pantha territory, they have been provoking Mantri Pantha village from time to time. Over the years, they invited people from their community (east, west, etc) to settle in great numbers with a premeditated plan to confiscate their benefactor’s land by means of adopting “Might is Right” method (in hindsight, Mantri Pantha villagers have realised) as doing so through legal means is impossible.

Secondly, since the house they were dismantling is inside Mantri Pantha village, it does not come under the purview of land dispute which is in court and is subjudiced. This is a clear case of attempt to destroy the property and attempt to murder of Mantri Pantha people by Lambung. Had Mantri Pantha villagers not restraint and limit themselves to only stopping mob vandalism, there would have been fatality on both side. But because, Mantri Pantha villagers had only gone there to stop them without any arms/weapons and they were attacked in the process, some of them got critically injured with deep cuts of knives and crowbar on the head, face and eyes that needs special medical attention at Shija clinic. On the otherhand, none of Lambung villagers faced casualty that requires more than first aid attention at district hospital and were discharged within half an hour (their injuries were not more than slight bruises). They are professional liars but the evidence have exposed yet another lies of theirs.

By now they must have realised that making some fake documents will not give them any chance as Mantri Pantha village had all valid official documents to proof their ownership of the land. So, adopting “might is right” method to get land ownership by force. But in this civilized world, proof and truth will prevail and not “might is right”
