CM reviews Secretariat Security; Meets ITBP IG on Law and Order

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today chaired a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Babupara, to review the security arrangements at the Civil Secretariat, amid the continuing focus on safeguarding key government installations in the state.

The meeting was attended by Home Minister K. Govindas Konthoujam, Minister Kh. Loken Singh and senior government officials. After reviewing the existing security setup, the meeting finalised a series of measures to strengthen security deployment at the Civil Secretariat with immediate effect. The government stated that the steps are aimed at ensuring the safety of the Secretariat and facilitating the smooth functioning of administrative activities.

A day earlier, Inspector General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Clay Khongsai, called on the Chief Minister at the Secretariat. The two discussed issues relating to internal security, law enforcement and civil-military civic action programmes in the state.

In a social media post following the meeting, the Chief Minister appreciated the ITBP’s role in strengthening public security and lauded its Civic Action Programmes for promoting community trust through welfare and healthcare initiatives.

He reiterated the State Government’s commitment to maintaining close coordination with security forces to ensure peace, stability and public welfare across Manipur.

The back-to-back meetings underscore the government’s continued emphasis on strengthening security infrastructure and enhancing coordination with central armed police forces amid ongoing efforts to restore normalcy in the state.
