With the BJP and AIADMK aligning and Mr Palaniswami strongly demonstrating his capacity to maintain the legacy of J Jayalalitha and taking on the Opposition confidently and virtually agreeing to most Modi government policies, we can expect a new wave in Tamil Nadu. Palaniswami has also delivered excellent governance during the COVID-19 situation and under his leadership, Tamil Nadu has become the most well governed state in India. Celebrity politicians and the old guard of the DMK, VCK, INC and others are carrying out a fierce campaign, and the entry of both the BJP and the INC in Tamil Nadu. So a state that since 1967 has been ruled by regional parties has become a new battlefield of the two national parties. The new dynamics in Tamil Nadu politics is here to stay.
