The festival of Diwali is considered a symbol of light and light. But to enjoy Diwali to the fullest, we should take care that our eyes are safe and healthy. As per the tradition of Diwali, we all light lamps and candles around every corner of the house. Greetings to all friends and relatives. Distribute sweets and burn crackers. But on this day many people also lose their eyes. Many people damage their eyesight while lighting firecrackers. Many people lose their eyesight forever. Therefore, crackers should be lit only by gathering in a group. Due to this, the joy of the festival is doubled, as well as the children do not get a chance to burn firecrackers alone so that they do any harm. According to Dr. Ritika Sachdev, Additional Director, Center for Sight, New Delhi, some ways to celebrate a safe Diwali:-
Light the firecrackers from a distance. Do not go too close to the firecrackers, especially keep your face very far away. If a firecracker does not burst, do not go near it and touch it with your hands. Maybe that cracker explodes in your hand. Wear loose-fitting clothes and do not wear synthetic clothes while lighting firecrackers. Do not send children to light crackers alone. Forbid children to play with arrowheads as there is a high risk of injury to the eyes.
According to Dr. Ritika Sachdev, there may be cuts, superficial abrasions, globe injuries, chemical and thermal burns in the eyes during Diwali. The sufferer may have problems such as pain, redness, swelling, burning, difficulty in opening and closing the eyes, or loss of vision. The substances that cause the most damage to the eyes are pomegranate, aerial, arrowhead, etc. The most damage occurs when firecrackers are lit in a tin or glass bottle to make the most noise, but it can cause a lot of harm to the people standing around, so it should not be done.
Stones and pieces of glass flying very fast can pierce one’s eye deep enough to cause severe eye injury. The carbon and other toxins released from the firecrackers can damage the tissues, nerves and other soft ligaments of the eyes. As soon as there is an injury to the eye, splash the eye with clean tap water. Then immediately take it to a good doctor. If you get hurt in your eyes, then take care of some of the following things like:-
Dr. Ritika Sachdev says, do not touch the injured part and do not rub the eyes. If it is a superficial injury, wash the eyes with clean water. If there is blood coming out of the eyes, there is pain or there is no clear vision, then cover the eyes and go to the doctor immediately. Do not do any treatment on your own. Do not consider any eye injury as minor because even a minor injury can permanently damage eyesight. These little things and information help in the treatment of the eyes, so that the sufferer can get well soon. Remember that eyes are a priceless gift of God and it is our utmost duty to take care of them. To solve any eye-related problem, contact the doctor immediately.
