Tree plantation drive organised at Japhou

As part of the nationwide Sewa Parv under the Nation First @ 75 Campaign, which commenced on September 17 and will continue until October 2, the DFO of Chandel organised a tree plantation drive today at Japhou village in Chandel district. Around 300 saplings were planted in areas surrounding the water source under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The programme was attended by Japhou village chief, W. Hemanshing Monshang, DFO of Chandel, Dr. N. Munal Meitei, staff of PHED, local villagers, and officials from the forest department.
Speaking on the third day of the campaign, Dr. N. Munal Meitei, DFO Chandel, highlighted that Sewa Parv aims to contribute towards making India a developed nation by 2047, marking 100 years of India’s independence. He further stated that the campaign is being organised across various districts and states of the country, and its success depends not only on government efforts but also on the active support and cooperation of villagers, youths, civil society organisations, and government officials.
