Imphal, Mar 8:
The Committee on Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) and the Student Union of Kangleipak (SUK) today visited Meijrao Model English School, and extended vital aid to its 179 enrolled students. These young learners, hailing from regions like Chairel Mangjil, Wangoo, and Laingoubi, find themselves displaced amidst the current crisis, with some even shouldering responsibilities as Village defenders on the outskirts.
Under the leadership of CCSK President Jeetendra Ningombam, the visiting team witnessed firsthand the school’s commitment not only to providing education but also offering essential nutritional support and engaging students in diverse cultural programs. Ningombam passionately appealed to relevant government departments to rally behind the school’s initiatives.
In a touching gesture, CCSK and SUK distributed uniforms to students from Class V to X, along with books for those in Classes V to VIII. These much-needed supplies were generously provided by L. Nandakumar, the Director of Education (S).
What’s truly remarkable is the school’s operation under the visionary leadership of esteemed Sumang Leela artist Sougrakpam Hemanta, highlighting the fusion of art and education in the community’s tapestry. Hemanta expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support extended by CCSK and SUK, stressing the school’s pivotal role in assuaging parental concerns amid these trying times.
CCSK and SUK have pledged ongoing assistance for both the students and the school, ensuring that the flame of education continues to burn brightly, illuminating a path of hope and resilience amidst adversity.
