Jiribam, Mar 8:

Prominent student bodies in Jiribam have joined forces to demand the establishment of a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) center at Harinagar.
In a press conference held today, the President of DESAM District Council Jiribam announced that representatives from four major student bodies in the district, including MSF, DESAM, KSA, and another student body, met with the Education Minister of Manipur to discuss the suitable location for setting up a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Jiribam District.
The student bodies proposed to the Education Minister the temporary utilization of the well-equipped infrastructure of the Model Residential School at Harinagar, which has remained idle since its construction.
Bilaks Meetei, the President of DESAM District Council Jiribam, expressed disappointment over the consideration of other locations that are inaccessible to students from various localities in Jiribam. He urged the authorities to promptly reconsider the location of the JNV center in the district.
The press conference was attended by L. Bilaks Meetei, President of DESAM District Council Jiribam, and K. Somorjit Singh, President of KSA District Council Jiribam, among others.
