As a part of security measures in and around Imphal city area to avoid any untoward incidents, a team of Imphal west commando of City Police (Bazaar Unit) cordon off the Paona bazaar area and conducted search operations on Monday morning.
Under the supervision of Inspector G Thaingampou, City Unit Commando OC, the combing operation took place at Paona Bazar near Masjid Road at around 08.30 am wherein 15 persons without identity cards were pulled up by the team for further verification.
It could be noted that such surprise search operation has frequented in the Bazaar areas of Imphal since after serial blasts which took place in and around Imphal area in the recent past.
