Rs. 6000.00 lakhs allocated as LAD fund for 60 MLA; Rs. 500 lakhs as LAD for 2 MPs for 2014-15

A total of rupees 6000.00 lakhs has been allocated as local area development (LAD) fund for the 60 MLAs of the state for the year 2014-15. This was stated by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh who is also in charge of Finance while replying to a question asked by MLA Samuel Risom. That means each constituency in the state get a share of 100 lakhs each for taking up developmental works. Chief Minister Ibobi said that for the year 2012-13 MLA local area development fund allocated was rupees 3000 lakhs, that is rupees 50 lakhs for each constituency and in the year 2013-14 the fund allocation was rupees 5250 lakhs, that is each constituency gets rupees 87.50 lakhs.
Besides these, MP Local Area Development Fund allocation for 2012-13 for Inner Manipur Lok Sabha was rupees 5,00,00,000/-, For outer Manipur Lok Sabha was 5,00,00,000/- and for Rajya Sabha MP was 5,00,00,000/-. The written reply of the Finance minister stated that in this year both the outer and inner MPs spends all the fund by completing 91 works in Inner Manipur Assembly Constituency and 92 works for outer Manipur Assembly Constituency. As for the Rajya Sabha MP, only rupees 3,43,80,000/- could be spent in the year with 15 works completed.
Fund allocation for the inner and the outer MPs for the year 2013-14, as MP local area development fund was also rupees 5,00,00,000/- each, and both the MPs spent all the expenditure by completing 62 works for the Inner and 65 works for the outer. As for the Rajya Sabha MP, only 3,28,20,000/- could be utilized out of the rupees 5,00,00,000/-, by taking 31 works at which 7 has been completed.
For the year 2014-15   fund allocation as Lad for both the Inner and Outer MP is 2,50,00,000/- each. Among these rupees 1,25,00,000 has been spend for the inner and rupees 2,50,00,000/- has been spend for the outer constituency. For the Rajys Sabha MP too fund allocation for this year is 2,50,00,000/-. The Rajya Sabha MP has so far spend rupees 1,19,75,000/- for 24 works.
