SDYC Khonghampat Beat LAMDA, Loitang in Penalties

SDYC Khonghampat Khunou clinched 22nd Khonghampat Gram Panchayat Level Football Cup by defeating LAMDA, Loitang in penalties. The football tournament organised by Khonghampat Youth Club under the Northern Development Association, N.C.D.A at Khonghampat Awang Leikai Laikol Ground started from 21st March, 2021.

At the final match today, both the teams opened their account during the first half of the match. LAMDA, Loitang opened their account during the first part of the first half. SDYC Khonghampat took just around 4 minutes to equalize the goal. Both the teams tried hard to convert goals but at the end of the regulation time the score remained 1-1.

Speaking as Chief Guest at the closing function of the tournament Rajen said that Manipur is well known by others because of its popularity in sports. The state can be proud of its rich sport talents. MC Mary Kom is honoured by the country for her achievements in the field of sports, he added.

Rajen said that people who are indulging in smuggling narcotic items should understand that they will not be able to live happily with the money they earned without human beings on earth. Killing people for the sake of profit is a big sin, he added.

Minister appealed the people to maintain good health. Youths of the state can prefer sports as priority since it has a lot of prospects for a career. Recognizing the talents of the youths of  Manipur in sports, National Sports University has been offered to the state by the Government of India. Such opportunity should be rightly used by all of us, minister added. 

Arambam Kameshwor, President N.C.D.A, Smt. L. Boby Devi, Upa-Adakshya, Imphal West, Y. Muhindro Singh, Pradhan, Khonghampat G.P. graced the closing function as president and Guests of Honour respectively.
