Independence Cup 2023 kicks off at Senapati

Senapati, Aug 8:

Deputy Commissioner, Senapati Mamoni Doley, IAS kicked off the Independence Cup 2023 today at Astro Turf Football Ground, Senapati.
The football tournament organized by District Administration, Senapati in collaboration with the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur is participated by seven colleges of the Senapati district are Mt. Pisgah College, Asufii Christian Institute, Don Bosco College Maram, Lungnila Elizabeth College, Mt. Zion College, St. Xavier College and Mt. Everest College.
Addressing the gathering, Senapati DC, Mamoni Doley, IAS stated that the Independence Cup 2023 is been organized to celebrate the spirit of independence and freedom this Independence Day celebration. She also stated that winning or losing the trophy is not necessary but team work and participation. She mentioned football game is a valuable lesson for all that taught us about collaboration and communication in the team likewise the government along with various organizations needed teamwork to run governance smoothly. She appealed the players to respect each other and play fairly. She also called on the participants to inculcate the spirit of togetherness and wished the player to play at its best. She also appealed the general public to come and witness the matches.
Additional District Magistrate PP Ronald, MCS also the adviser of SDOAM in his speech applauded the participants for their co-operation. He said that the football is one of the greatest events in sport as it has millions of fan all over the world. He further said that football is an exciting game with unpredictable outcome. He mentioned that Independence Cup 2023 is one of its first kinds in the district to be organized by District Administration, Senapati and SDOAM. He believed that the tournament will boost the youth and student of the district to excel in the extra co- curriculum activities also. He also appealed the student to develop the spirit of patriotism and love for motherland like those freedom fighters.
The programme was attended PP Ronald, MCS, ADM, Senapati, SDOAM officials, District Sport Association, Senapati President and its member, and Colleges Principals, teachers and students.
