The Imphal East District Roll Ball Association was formally constituted following its first general body meeting held on December thirteen at nine thirty in the morning at the RO Tingong Water Plant, Top Yaralpat, Imphal East district.
The meeting was attended by thirty two sports enthusiasts, supporters and sympathisers of roll ball, along with special invitees from various parts of the district and representatives of the Manipur Roll Ball Association.
Social activist Haorungbam Ashirjit Luwang, also known as Boicha, Seram Raghumani Singh, Longjam Ibochou Singh and Secretary of the Manipur Roll Ball Association Dr Laiphrakpam Kumar Singh were present on the dais as chief guest, guests of honour and president respectively.
During the meeting, office bearers of the newly formed association were elected unanimously. Haorungbam Ashirjit Luwang was elected president, S Saratchandra Sharma vice-president, Dr Th Bimol Singh secretary, Laishram Meghachandra Singh joint secretary and K Sarat Sharma treasurer. Brozendra Ningomba, Usham Nilachandra, Keisham Yaiphaba and Seram Rishikanta Singh were elected as executive members.
Addressing the gathering, the newly elected president announced that he would donate land from his paddy field at Yaral Chingol for the development of a playfield, including a skating rink, for roll ball. The announcement was warmly welcomed and appreciated by those present.
The meeting also resolved to authorise the newly elected office bearers and executive members to complete all necessary formalities for registration of the Imphal East District Roll Ball Association with the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Manipur.
