Fifteen wrestlers from various weight categories, including four female competitors, have been selected to represent their state at the Senior National Wrestling Championship 2024, scheduled to take place from December 6 to December 8 in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The selected female wrestlers are Yumlembam Minakshi Devi (50 kg), Luwang Chanu Linthoi (53 kg), Manista Ningombam (57 kg), and Jenista Ningombam (62 kg). On the male side, the Freestyle category includes Waikhom Jatishor Meetei (57 kg), N. Sunil Singh (61 kg), Saikhom Yaikhomba Singh (65 kg), Salam Yaiphaba Luwang (70 kg), and Akoijam Niteshwor Singh (74 kg). Representing the Greco-Roman category are Laishram Saiyon Meitei (55 kg), Kh. Loyangamba Singh (63 kg), M. Taibanganba (67 kg), Y. Victor Singh (72 kg), N. Jameson (77 kg), and N. Tyson Singh (82 kg).
The selected athletes have been instructed to report to officials N. Sanayaima Singh (+91 8257886793), M. Somorendro Singh (+91 9402261973), and Ch. Anita Chanu (+91 9862100579) along with their parents before November 25, 2024, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. This championship provides a significant opportunity for the wrestlers to compete on a national stage and showcase their skills.
