The Manipuri feature film Yahouthengba Khoimu has won the Best Feature Film Award at the All India Film Festival 2024-25, organized by the Cine Society, West Bengal, Kolkata. Recognized for its artistic excellence, the film has also been honored with the prestigious Cinematic Brilliance Award.
Directed by Rakesh Naorem and produced by Dr. RK Nayansana, Yahouthengba Khoimu (Blossom of Love) shared the Cinematic Brilliance Award with the Hindi feature film Bread & Butter, directed by Julee Jasmin.
In other categories, Dil Banzara, directed by Sushant Shinde, won the Best Short Film Award, while Nani, directed by Dhanajit Huiromgbam, received the Best Documentary Award. Additionally, films in Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil were also honored in various categories.
The 135-minute Manipuri feature film Yahouthengba Khoimu has also been nominated for the Best Film North East at the Prag Cine Awards 2025. The film’s lead actors, Avi Khundrakpam and Ithoi Oinam, have been nominated for the Best Actor North East (Male & Female) categories.
Produced under the Ipak Films Production banner and presented by the Jaydeep Memorial Foundation, Yahouthengba Khoimu has also been officially selected for screening at the International Film Festival of Telangana 2025, organized by the All India Film Maker Association, Telangana, Hyderabad. The film is scheduled to be screened at Hyderabad Press Club on February 16 at 5:00 PM.
Furthermore, from February 12 to 16, Yahouthengba Khoimu was showcased at the 2nd Northeast India Film Festival 2025, held in Imphal, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). The film was screened on February 13 at 6:00 PM at Tanthapolis Auditorium, Lamphel as part of the Non-Competitive Section of the festival, organized by Thouna, Kakching, Film Forum Manipur, and the Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Government of Manipur.
The screenplay and dialogues of Yahouthengba Khoimu were penned by Khwairakpam Bishwamitra. The film stars Avi Khundrakpam, Ithoi Oinam, and Ratana Kshetrimayum, while Kenny Wahengbam has been introduced in a major role. The film’s cinematography and editing were handled by Mohendro Kams and Sushil Yumlembam, respectively. The choreography was done by Dr. Saterjit Thiyam, with Ragini and Chandrima serving as makeup artists. The film’s music director, Nanao Sagolmang, has composed songs performed by playback singers Huidrom Nowboy, Divya Haobam, and Loijingkhombi.
