The District Bar Association Bishnupur celebrated its 34th Foundation Day at the Bar Hall of the District & Sessions Court Complex, Bishnupur.
The event was attended by District & Sessions Judge Bishnupur, Nongthombam Keertichand; President of the District Bar Association Bishnupur, Wahengbam Lata; Retired Director of Prosecution, Angom Nilachandra; Public Prosecutor of First Track Court (I) Imphal, Tongbram Bipinchandra; Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel Bishnupur, Yelam Ramnanda; Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel Imphal West, Pukhrambam Premchand; and Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel Imphal East, Irengbam Bikramjit.
A tribute was paid to the departed founders of the association by observing a minute of silence in remembrance of their contributions. The association acknowledged their efforts in laying a strong foundation and guiding its progress.
During the event, speakers emphasized the role of the District Bar Association in strengthening the justice delivery system and upholding legal principles. They also discussed the need for continued dedication to legal service and improvement of the association.
District & Sessions Judge Bishnupur, Nongthombam Keertichand, highlighted the crucial role of lawyers in ensuring justice and commended the association for its efforts. He expressed that the legal professionals of Bishnupur District are making significant contributions, not just within the district but also beyond.
President of the District Bar Association Bishnupur, Wahengbam Lata, stressed the strong coordination between the Bar and the Bench. He encouraged the legal community to continue supporting the association in fulfilling its responsibilities towards society.
