Udyam registration drive held at Ishok, 70 entrepreneurs registered

An awareness-cum-Udyam Registration Drive was held at Chingphu Ningthou Shembileima Haraobung, Ishok, on Thursday to promote awareness of government schemes and facilitate the registration of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The programme was organised under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme in collaboration with the District Industries Centre (DIC), Bishnupur; Ishok Gram Panchayat; Apunba Club Ishok; Indian Red Cross Society, Bishnupur District Branch; and Chingphu Ningthou Shembileima Thougal Lup.

Ishok Gram Panchayat Administrative Committee chairperson Warepam Deben Singh, DIC Bishnupur General Manager Hijam Karuna Devi, and Indian Red Cross Society Bishnupur District Branch secretary Dr Huidrom Romen Singh attended the programme and addressed participants.

Warepam Deben Singh highlighted the difficulties faced by residents due to poor road connectivity and limited awareness of the offices and government agencies that could assist them. He appreciated the DIC’s initiative in reaching out to villagers and helping them access relevant schemes and services.

Hijam Karuna Devi assured that the DIC would work to connect aspiring entrepreneurs with banks and concerned departments to facilitate their business activities. She also highlighted the benefits of the Logistics Strengthening Scheme and the Interest Subvention Scheme for Women-Owned MSMEs.

Around 70 people engaged in tailoring, shopkeeping, fish farming, piggery and other occupations from Ishok village registered under the Udyam Registration initiative during the drive.
