The symposium titled “Kshetrimayum Subadani’s Life & Her Contribution in Manipuri Literature” was part of the Trust’s commemoration programme, organized by Kshetrimayum Yaima Memorial Trust (KYMT), Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai, Imphal.
The symposium was organized as a curtain-raiser event ahead of the Golden Jubilee Celebration on completing 50 years of the literary journey of Kshetrimayum Subadani. Former Dean, School of Humanities, Manipur University, Prof. Nahakpam Aruna moderated the program.
Dr. Kangabam Memton Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Manipuri, Kakching Khunou College, gave a talk on “The Life and Works of Kshetrimayum Subadani.”
Dr. Heikrujam Roybala Devi, Assistant Professor, DM College of Arts, Dhanamanjuri University, spoke on “Women’s Strength in the Fiction of Kshetrimayum Subadani.”
Dr. Salam Shantibala, Assistant Professor, Department of Manipuri, Nambol L. Sanoy College, spoke on “Language and Expression in the Writings of Kshetrimayum Subadani.”
Speaking at the event, the Trust’s Chairperson, Kshetrimayum Subadani, said:
“As part of my 50-year literary journey, the Trust has organised this symposium. I have written since my childhood. I believe my life’s work so far has been meaningful. My writings have emerged step by step with sincerity, love, dedication and values. I am delighted that many have appreciated my work. It gives me immense joy that my books have reached readers from different walks of life.”
Kshetrimayum Subadani further said, “This Trust, in the name of my late father, has been assisting the underprivileged, supporting students in their studies, and conducting various welfare and literary activities. The Trust has also started presenting Lifetime Achievement Awards to outstanding personalities from different fields. I request everybody to continue supporting the Trust so that its initiatives may flourish.”
