A seminar focusing on the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the Northeastern states, with particular emphasis on Manipur, was held today at Imperial Hall, Classic Grande, Imphal. The event was organised by Assam Down Town University as part of the North East Educator’s Conclave, Manipur Chapter.
N. Praveen Singh, IAS, Secretary of Education, Government of Manipur, attended the seminar as Chief Guest. Takhellambam Ojit Singh, Chairman of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur, graced the event as Guest of Honour. Professor Rajeev Sharmah from the Faculty of Science, Assam Down Town University, presided over the seminar as President.
Speaking at the seminar, Prof. Rajeev Sharmah highlighted the major features of the NEP 2020 and outlined the challenges of implementing the policy in Manipur. He also discussed the structural changes in the education system that are expected under the NEP, especially in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
The seminar witnessed participation from a large number of teachers and educators representing both government and private schools and colleges across the state.
